Although the two of them aren't officially on here yet, I was just inspired to write this for some reason.
Also if you're wondering this did not took place in the present, just to explain certain scenarios later on.
To her, he has always been quite a weird person, as he has always been slow on things.
Only after he made a mistake, he would realize how embarrasing it was and turn red.
Only after he was treated badly, he would be aware that he should be angry at that time.
After the death of her, he was the one who calmed everyone who has crying....
....Then crying by himself a few days after.
She once asked him, "Wouldn't living like that be troublesome?" which he replies with a calm smile.
"...I don't really think it's a bad thing. After all, we tend to act what's on our head, often letting your emotions burst out which ends up hurting ourselves and others instead...Maybe through being slow we can live peacefully, then it's a good thing, isn't it?"
Staring at him, Kiyomi smiled as she realized the reason why she was once so attracted to him.
As days passed, he continued on living his life as the slow person he is.
As the slow person he is, he never seem to realize......
......As the slow person he is......
"Say, Kiyomi, by any chance......a-are you uhm, seeing......someone right now?" After slightly hesitating, he spoke up.
"......Yes." She replied with a calm smile, "Did you forgot? Ryoko confessed to me for almost three weeks now."
"I see. I wish you both the best of happiness." He said this firmly, in contrast of stuttering on his words in the previous sentence.
"Thank you." She answered in an almost monotonous tone as always, and the conversation ended.
As the slow person he is......
......Maybe, just maybe that's the reason of the existence of the gap between their feelings all along.
Staring at her silhouette as it slowly fade away from sight, Kiyoshi closed his eyes, leaning against the wall behind him.
".......Slow person, huh?......"
"Ah, thank you Kiyoshi-kun." She expressed her gratitude as he helped out with the pile of textbooks in her hands. Both of them were walking in the school hallways, and in their school uniform as well.
"Y-Your welcome, Shimamura-senpai....." He mumbled in a voice that barely could be heard, then she spoke again. "You're interesting. You always help others out and treat everyone so kindly. I wonder why?" This didn't sound like neither a question nor a compliment, but just like a normal statement, but it was enough to cause him to turn red all the way to his ears.
What happened after that was already long forgotten, but what he did remember is that the words deep within him never came out.
"You never knew......That I was only treating you kindly, Kiyomi......." He said in a voice that could only be heard by himself and tears slowly falling down his cheek.
"The one who was slow......was actually you all along."
